Inconel 625 Grade studs, The strongest exhaust manifold stud kit available for the Ford Barra engine.
These studs will not stretch or break as the factory steel items do. This will prevent repeated repairs to the exhaust manifold as is commonplace among high HP applications using the Barra engine.
Some manufacturers use Titanium as their fastener of choice, which is cheaper and lighter. But in terms of outright tensile strength under pressure and extreme temperature. Inconel has no equal.
Inconel 625 offers superior resistance to fatigue from heat and pressure well above standard high-tensile steel fasteners, stainless, and Titanium. Which ensures the correct clamping pressure is always applied during its service life.
German-made Prevailing torque locknuts from Wurth and 316 Grade stainless steel washers are supplied with the kits.
Each stud is manufactured with a shank to ensure correct seating into the head, without bottoming the studs thread out internally. A 5mm allen key is stamped into the head of the stud to ensure it is able to be torqued correctly against the face of the cylinder head before the manifold is fitted and the studs are wound down with their torque sequence.
Studs without this shank will always wind into the cylinder head as the lock nuts are tightened. If the thread bottoms out inside the cylinder head, it will lead to the fastener pushing the manifold off the face of the head as the stud expands under heat.
